The Macedonian work visa is a long-stay visa (Visa D) that is issued to foreign nationals who want to travel to Macedonia for employment or self-employment. The long-stay visa is valid for 6 months but allows a maximum stay of 30 days. This means that you can use this visa to enter Macedonia once within 6 months from the day it was issued but cannot stay in the country for more than 30 days. You are required to report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 5 days of your entry into Macedonia where you will be issued a temporary residence permit within 25 days from the day you report (that is, before your visa expires). To apply for the long-stay visa, you must accurately complete and sign the visa application form and submit it with a colour passport photo taken with a white background. To apply for a temporary residence permit, your application should be submitted to the Macedonian mission in the nearest country. The following documents are required with your application for a temporary residence permit: proof of sufficient funds to cater to your financial needs while in Macedonia. Evidence of accommodation or means to secure accommodation in Macedonia. A travel medical insurance covering the entire duration of your stay in Macedonia is required.
